RECAP
The fourth annual Ralph Grieco Memorial doubles tennis tournament was held July 16 to 19th at the spectacular Hound Ears Club in Boone, North Carolina. The event fielded four teams this year and played over four days. Each team fielded one court each of 65s, 70s, and 75s doubles. As is the NSMTA tradition, family and friends were welcome, and this event featured great tennis and plenty of it, courts, balls, shirts, beverages, ice cream, daily food, and a beer party for a reasonable fee of $75 a player. Teams came from Hendersonville and Linville, North Carolina, Southwest Florida, and Hound Ears to play. It was very competitive and came down to the last day’s matches to find a winner. Hound Ears cemented its victory on the last day by defeating Hendersonville. All in all, it was a good four days of great doubles, confirming how enjoyable and beneficial these tennis events are for us.
The NMTA partnered with Kristy Grieco to establish the Ralph Grieco Tennis Fund with the purpose of giving back to life opportunities through tennis. More about the Ralph Grieco Tennis Fund can be found here.
